What the day looks like

Four hours, and only one of them is new

  1. 01

    Theory

How the equipment works, how to breathe, and the two or three rules that matter. Short, and in your own language. Then you get in the water.

  2. 02

    Shallow water

Standing depth. You breathe underwater for the first time somewhere you can simply stand up if you want to stop.

  3. 03

    The dive

A sheltered bay with an instructor beside you. Rock, fish, and the strange quiet everyone remembers afterwards.

  4. 04

    Afterwards

If you loved it, the dive counts towards your Open Water certification. If it was not for you, that is a perfectly good answer too.

The things people actually worry about

Panicking. The most common fear, and the easiest to answer: everything happens in shallow water first, the instructor stays within arm’s reach, and you can stop at any point.

Not swimming well enough. You need to be comfortable in water, not fast in it. Tell us before you book and we will be honest about whether it suits you.

Whether it suits everyone in the group. Age and medical conditions depend on the person, so ask us rather than guessing.
